Since its establishment in 1884, Istanbul Erkek Lisesi has been one of the most prestigious schools in Istanbul and Turkey.Its distinction is further elevated by its awarding of the esteemed German Abitur diploma and a storied historical heritage, reinforcing its position as Turkey’s pre-eminent high school and Gymnasium. In a notable achievement in the 2021 academic period, the institution conducted a school uniform design competition, the two winner designs were officially incorporated into the official school uniforms, proudly worn by students of Turkey's most successful Gymnasium.
The design prominently features an illustration of the school's renowned entrance gate, combined with the school anthem dating back to the 1900s and the establishment date. The color choice for the uniform, red and white, has been selected to reflect the Turkish flag, symbolizing national pride and connection.
For the second design, I chose a more traditional and cautious approach. Despite this conservative uniform design, the excellent depiction of the school's renowned door was well-received by many judges and, more importantly, by the students themselves.
